We've taken out our Direct TV

Jun. 27, 2006 - We've taken out our Direct TV ...
and the sun still rose this morning. There was some question about that from the males in my home! There were some compelling arguments from my son. They came over the course of about 3 days and reminded me of things that you might see on the Top 10 of Letterman.

The Top 10 arguments against taking out Direct TV ...

10. What will we do in the evening(question that led me to believe this was absolutely the best decision!)??
9. Do you think Aunt Mindie will let me come over and watch the new Sponge Bob Episode?
8. What if a tornado comes, how will we ever find out?
7. How will we know if Osama takes over the world?
6. You know, Megastructures could count for school! Couldn't it?
5. You mean we only pay $50 for all these channels (somehow I'm beginning to question his sense of valuing money)!
4. Will we ever be able to watch TV again?
3. Won't Dad miss watching the guys build the motorcycles when he gets home and he's sooooooooooooo tired?
2. Does this mean I have to read more????????(please read with all the distressing tone that he had!)
1. What are we going to do when Dad comes home grumpy and grouchy ... usually we just give him the remote to keep him happy?? (One that made me wonder if we'd made the right call).

We'll see how this goes ... maybe more books will be read, more games will be played, more conversations will be started ... or maybe we'll give in by the end of the summer! We'll see!
